Bridging the gap between neighbourhood hangout and refined cocktail destination, Coupette is part sophisticated bar, part French bistro. Playful modern artwork and a long bar topped with vintage coins finish the picture. There’s a heavy emphasis on French ingredients, particularly the bar’s hero spirit calvados. However, drinks are playful and engaging, made to imbibe, not to study. Opened by Chris Moore of Savoy fame in 2017, Coupette shot into the top 20 of The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2018, winning the Best New Opening Award in the process. Ask for the signature ‘Champagne Piña Colada’ cocktail.
