A glamourous Mayfair dining destination tucked inside London’s Mandeville Hotel. The smartly dressed dining room serves a palatial spread of dishes borrowed from all regions of India, with numerous plates inspired by the habits of the country’s former regal rulers. Part of a fine-dining group that has had unprecedented success in India since its founding in Bengaluru in 2001, this is the brand’s first UK restaurant. Other locations include Doha and Dubai. Spread across two areas, the Dining Room and the Game Room, it’s an expansive space dressed in jewel-toned hues. The menu is split into street-food-inspired small plates, charcoal-grilled delights from traditional tandoor and a large selection of pan-Indian mains including creamy Old Delhi butter chicken, Calicut sea bass curry and the restaurant’s signature gucchi lababdar. A six-course tasting menu is also offered. The bar serves a botanically influenced selection of cocktails. The imperial old fashioned, a pairing of Maker’s Mark with Amaro Montenegro, salted honey and Mumbai bitters, is one of the best.
