Lewis is a key cog in the wheel that is the city of Antwerp's super-cool status. Overseen by chef Thomas Snijders, whose previous positions include cooking at Relae in Copenhagen and under the legend that is Ferrán Adria in Barcelona, now operates Lewis and launched sister venue, Bar Raket, at the beginning of 2023. The restaurant is set within a former 'Love Hotel' and its interior combines rough concrete walls with bright red neon signage giving a nod to its past, plus there's a picturesque dining terrace studded with heavily-fringed, pastel-hued chintzy parasols. The ever-changing menu is no less iconoclastic, offering only the 'Lewis Chooses' menu for dinner. Dishes could include Snijders' twist on a steak tartare, smoked eel on toast or blue shrimp with kohlrabi and horseradish, plus there's an enticing list of natural wines on offer.
